Uttaranchal University
Uttaranchal University has been recognized by the UGC under sections 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and by other statutory bodies of the State and the Nation. The University has been accredited with the prestigious “A+ Grade” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Uttaranchal University has become the first university in the State of Uttarakhand to receive NAAC A+ Grade in the first cycle of Accreditation, thus creating history. This firmly positions us among the top 5% HEIs of the nation. The university is undeterred in its mission to provide the best experience to all its students whether regional, national or international, through quality teaching, investing in research and innovation.
About
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a flagship program of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (Gol) with IIT Delhi designated as the National Coordinating Institute. It aims to create a vibrant relationship between society and higher education institutes through enabling faculty and students to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges, innovating and evolving appropriate solutions, and implementing effective interventions for accelerating sustainable growth and transformation of villages.
The program was formally launched on 11 November 2014 by the Hon'ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. As of today, there are over 3,200 higher education institutes under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan having a footprint in 548 districts, 28 states and 8 union territories, and working with over 16,000 villages. The focus areas include sustainable agricultural systems, water resource management, rural energy systems, basic amenities (rural infrastructure, sanitation, affordable healthcare, school education, digital empowerment, connectivity, etc), and artisans, industries and livelihoods.

OUR VISION
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India and to have a paradigm shift in academic and research programs of the country.

OUR MISSION
Develop the necessary mechanism and proper coordination among educational institutions, implementation agencies (District administration / Panchayati Raj Institutions) and the grassroots level stakeholders to enable effective intervention at the field level.
Select suitable rural clusters and effectively participate in the holistic development of these clusters using eco-friendly sustainable technologies and local resources creating sufficient employment opportunities in the process, harnessing multifarious government schemes, customised use of existing technologies and use of knowledge as per the local needs.
Reorienting the academic curricula and research programs in higher educational Institutions to make them more responsive to the needs of the time and to bring in holistic development and enrich knowledge of students about issues of villages/society.
